Antique Tibetan turquoise and silver earrings

Extremely rare. A pair of antique exquisite Tibetan turquoise and silver earrings from Lhasa, sourced in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Only noblewomen from Lhasa could afford adornment of such size and quality, which were worn only on festive occasions. Due to their weight, these earrings would not hang through the ear lobes alone. They also have silver loops on the back of the earring, to which a silver chain or vividly embroidered cloth would be attached. This would then become part of the ornamental head dress, thereby supporting the weight of the earrings from the head.
