Antique Silver Sudanese Wedding Ornamentation

An excellent example of an VERY rare, antique, traditional Sudanese silver bridal ornamentation, worn as a long necklace. This exquisite necklace, comprising heavy granulation and intricate hand-woven silver chain, shows the artistic influences of the region of the Horn of Africa. I have only every come across this and one other item that is similar, and they have been with me since 1991. This glorious item of adornment is museum quality, yet is eminently wearable and contemporary.
