Every piece has been lovingly collected by Hanan Yanny from Africa and Asia over 20 years of travelling into remote towns and villages, many now totally inaccessible to the outsider for reasons of war or conflict. These individual pieces have themselves been heirlooms handed down from mother to daughter, symbols of the status, wealth and financial security of its female owner.
