Necklace, Amber & antique slave red glass with Ethiopian cross

This necklace is made of rare large red glass beads from the 18th century used for trading gold, minerals, ivory, and even slaves from West Africa. It also comprises African amber, called copal, from the coastal region of Zanzibar in East Africa which was traded across land, and an Ethiopian silver Coptic cross.
