Necklace, Long antique blue/brown chevron on antique multistrand

This necklace is made of an extremely rare and truly unique 17th century Venetian striped Chevron bead, measuring 13 cm / 5 inches in length. The elegance and technical refinement of Chevrons makes them among the most treasured of antique trading beads and were a favourite of African chiefs who wore them with other amulets to demonstrate their power and virility. It is hung off a multi strand of antique recycled Venetian brown glass seed beads from Ghana. In all my travels and years of collecting, this is the only bead I have ever seen like this. Truly a unique heirloom piece.
