Necklace, Antique blue/brown chevron dangled off silver chain

This necklace is made using a beautiful 17th century Venetian striped Chevron bead. Their elegance and technical refinement makes these among the most treasured of antique trading beads. Chevrons were a favourite of African chiefs who wore them with lion's teeth and other amulets to demonstrate their power and virility. It is combined with handmade Egyptian silver chain. An heirloom piece.
