Necklace, Antique blue/brown chevron off antique multistrand

This necklace is made of a beautiful large 17th century Venetian Chevron bead. The elegance and technical refinement of Chevrons makes these among the most treasured of antique trading beads. Chevrons were a favourite of African chiefs who wore them with lion's teeth and other amulets to demonstrate their power and virility. In this necklace the Chevron is combined with a multi strand of antique handmade brown Venetian glass seed beads. An heirloom piece.
